Job Summary: Maintain or repair of some or all of the following; aircraft, aircraft engines, aircraft components and avionics systems according to FAA specifications. Perform inspections during assembly of part and after repair or installation of component. Documenting maintenance procedures to include; component damage, component origin, and condition of component, components or equipment. Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Job Qualifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant license is required. Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Should possess the basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems. Certain duties may require working in confined spaces for a periodic time. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts. Must achieve a satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude test which is structured to determine the ability to perform essential job functions. To qualify for this position, you must: Have a valid driver’s license At least 18 years of age Ability to pass an extensive background check, drug test and Authorized to work in the US Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Position Purpose: The Senior Aircraft Technician independently performs a variety of aircraft modifications and maintenance functions such as removal and installation of the following to ensure conformance to procedures, performances and test specifications: • Airframes • Landing Gear • Engine Components • Electrical Components • Control Systems Essential Functions: The Senior Aircraft Technician: 1. Performs required periodic maintenance as well as necessary servicing of all Aircraft Mechanical Systems. o Demonstrates the ability to consistently perform assigned maintenance tasks within the quoted or standard CMP time. 2. Provides work direction for assigned Technicians. o Promotes high standards of quality through instruction and example setting. o Acts on behalf of MTL in his/her absence and assumes the duties and responsibilities of the MTL when assigned. 3. Coordinates with the Inspection Department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements. o Properly completes work order sign-offs, shift turnovers and other paper work in a timely manner. o Ensures that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications. 4. Properly identifies (tags) customer property and equipment. o Stores aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely. 5. Follows Standard Operating Procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment, such as: o Power Supply. o Hydraulic Rigs. o Nitrogen Filler Carts. o Oxygen Service Carts. 6. Operates and supervises use of special support equipment used in removal and installation of major components. 7. Coordinates with Line Service to schedule movement of aircraft, as required, and assists with movement of aircraft. 8. Possesses a working knowledge of: o The Company Policies and Procedures. o Repair Station and Quality Control Manual. o Pertinent Process Specifications. 9. Assists in training new employees concerning: o Computerized Maintenance Program (CMP) Maintenance Manuals. o SRM Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) Usage. o Flight Test Installations. o All maintenance of major components. 10. Acts on behalf of MTL in their absence, as required. 11. Coordinates with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed. 12. Performs other duties as required. Additional Functions: The Senior Aircraft Technician: 1. Uses the Material Tracking System to create parts demand and to charge labor to correct work orders and item numbers. 2. Applies 5S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered. o Properly collects and disposes of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids and solvent rags. 3. Properly uses and maintains Company-provided tools and equipment; returns items to Tool Room after use.
